Review websites - which should I focus on?

Hey peeps,

I want to start gathering public reviews for my product, Thankbox and am wondering which to focus on? My main aim is to have a good, populate review site show up whenever someone searches for "thankbox reviews" .

Based on my limited knowledge there are two options - Capterra and Google reviews.

Capterra have a rigorous process and review all reviews (heh) before publishing. Some of my competitors are on this. Capterra has really good SEO as they often show up whenever you type "product name reviews". But they seem to be very enterprise-SaaS business orientated with their feedback form as they end up asking reviewers questions about their team size and job position etc. Not necessarily something that's a good fit for my product, which is more B2C.

Google reviews is the other option. I'm starting to develop the Google My Business profile, which is apparently useful even if you don't have a physical business, and I could ask users to leave reviews there. The upside is that it's very easy to leave a review but I wonder if there's a downside like it being very easy to get troll reviews.

Is there some other option I'm missing? Open to all advice.

What do people search for to find you? Let's say it's "remote team tools"- focus on whichever review site ranks first for that term

Looks like a great product, especially in these remote working times.

I think, given your likely market, the technology review sites aren't going to be that useful. I would focus more on the type of sites that customers are likely to leave reviews on. Google Reviews is definitely one. The other one that seems to be widely used and well regarded is TrustPilot. They have a free plan too.

Thanks - I think I'll try with Google Reviews and see what comes of it.
