SaaS founders handling users who don't ask for refunds but issue chargebacks

While reading this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Entrepreneur/comments/11mjiar/friendly_fraud_chargeback_abuse/ one of the commenters gave a very detailed, structured strategy he used to win 80% of his chargeback disputes after losing most of them initially.

Given that chargeback disputes are annoying and expensive for merchants/SaaS founders, what strategies have others used to win most of their disputes? And would you pay for a SaaS product to handle the whole process of gathering evidence and making a template to resolve chargeback disputes with the consumer/user and the card processor? It seems cumbersome and distracting for each business owner to come up with a strategy and manually execute on it every time a chargeback is issued.

No, me personally, I would never pay for such a product

Have you not had enough chargeback disputes that it's less of a concern, or you feel pretty confident already winning most disputes?

I'd rather have a system to prevent it in the firts place, built into my own product, by myself, like the post suggests. But that is only me.

I'd be more concerned on why customers were charging back in signficant enough numbers for you to strategise around it (as a small startup, not corporate of course).

I might be an optimist but I like to think if you provide a good enough service and target the right people, chargebacks should be rare.

I agree wholeheartedly. I imagine for some businesses with lower margins though, even 5-10% of revenue being impacted due to chargebacks may be significant.

Have you had any painful experiences addressing a chargeback dispute (either as the merchant or the customer)?
