Moorning! This is a spontaneous post, "crafted" on the fly while typing into this text box here.
For the first time since starting the indie hacking game 2 years ago, it almost looks like I'm having a proper content strategy.
The backstory:
I started making unfiltered work-in-progress video over on Youtube. Documenting how I started a new project to prevent getting broke at the end of this month (see here: https://www.youtube.com/@ludwigsonneck). Then also posting on Twitter more regularly now.
Youtube got to 391 subscribers in those 3 weeks, Twitter from around 50 (which it hovered around at for a year) to 230. So for the first time since starting solopreneurship, there's more than 15 people following my stuff on social media.
Leveling up:
Now, through the YouTube videos, I came to collaborating with Jan, who helps founders grow on LinkedIn, and he's really good with marketing. Knows how to create a content strategy, marketing copy, email campaigns, etc etc.
And with him, content suddenly got leveled up and much more serious. My profile on LinkedIn is now a turbocharged content-marketing-educational-following-optimized glossy piece of social media. With a HUGE About Me section on LinkedIn that reads like a landing page.
Now there will be content calendar with top of the funnel, bottom of the funnel posts, educational content, story pieces and so on.
Feeling weird on that new level:
And this is scary, it feels like there's no excuse anymore when the grand proposals made in these profiles are not working out/living up to the promise. It feels like there's now the risk of disappointing people (or myself?).
Is this impostor syndrome? Or just fear of failure?
Does anyone of you know this feeling?
On the other hand, could it also be a useful driver for living up to what you propose? As in going out of our comfort zone makes us achieve our goals faster? Or is it really a bit much to promote a small desktop tool for compressing and converting video files as a great workflow-improvement for people...
It felt so nice before, to just have an unambitious, "authentic" profile picture, no marketing-copy-style text in my profiles, and just be a normal guy lol.
