After my graduation in CS, I spent 18 years writing code. Then I spent nearly a decade running away from it.
Not on purpose. Life just happened. A couple of startups that didn't work out. Bills to pay. I shifted into digital marketing services, built a decent business, but deep down I knew the truth. I missed building things.
Then AI arrived and changed the math entirely.
You no longer need a team of six engineers to ship something real. 1-2 people with a clear problem and the right tools can actually build now. That hit me hard. Because I had 18 years of dev experience sitting dormant, and suddenly it felt relevant again.
So I came back to coding.
The first thing I decided to build wasn't random. It was something I'd personally suffered through, both as a startup founder and later as a small agency owner: screening job applicants.
Here's the thing nobody talks about. When you're a founder without an HR team and you post a job, you don't get 10 applications. You get 200. And a large number of those people clearly did not read the job description before hitting apply. Wrong skills, wrong industry, etc. Reading through them one by one is exhausting and expensive
I built a tool to fix that.
It's called Screlocity, www.screlocity.com (screening + velocity - nerdy name ). You feed it your job description and the CVs you've collected, and it screens and categorizes them into four buckets so you know exactly who to talk to first. Your best chance of getting the right candidate as soon as possible
I'm sharing it here because this community gets it. You're all building lean. You're all hiring without full HR functions. And you've all probably felt that specific pain of opening your 47th unqualified CV on a Tuesday morning.
If you want to try it, I am happy to give you 50 free credits, which covers screening up to 50 CVs. Just create an account and message me your email . I'll add the credits manually.
Would genuinely love your feedback, as I'd love to make it the greatest screening tool . From one builder to another.
