Seeking advice on starting a YouTube channel
Hi Hackers!
I've been thinking for quite some time to start a youtube channel, but I never went through with it. I consider myself a great mentor and I'd like to take that to another level. What advice can you give me on starting? I asked the Twitter community to vote on topics they'd like me to make videos on. I'd appreciate your opinion on the topic, and all your advices on starting a YouTube channel will definitely help me!

The common advice I see on this front is to just show up consistently. Consistently put out content that has a quantum of utility for at least 1 year. A lot of the details will work themselves out, just get started and don't overthink/overproduce/overengineeer it like us indiehackers love to do 😅.
I totally forgot about the importance of consistency! In that case I better prepare a list of at least the next 5-10 videos I would record. Thank you for the advice @most!

My advice is just start, don't overthink it. There's no right or wrong time to start!
Doesn't even matter really what the first video turns out like, as long as you get started!
Research keywords and tags for your videos and learn how to properly SEO your video content.
Also, do you prepare an outline before you record your videos or go with the flow?
I have a rough outline but not a script... I would outline my intro, and explanation of what I'm going to teach but once I get into the live coding and teaching, that is all just go with the flow 😀😀😀

I just think naturally what would I type if I was searching for this? Include those first, either the words or as phrases... Then check out the related video.with the most views and extract their keywords... Take a few from there aswell
