Seeking U.S.-Based Tech Co-Founder/Dev Team for Social App

Hey IndieHackers,

Finding allies, co-founders, or investors online feels harder than ever. We are trapped in endless text threads, dead messages, and stagnant profile grids. I’m building NextUs to fix this by bringing professional matching back into the physical world.

I am looking for a US-based Technical Co-Founder / Dev Team / GTM Partner who understands the startup ecosystem to help build our MVP and scale user acquisition.

💡 The Problem & The Origin

This project comes from my personal frustration with traditional social apps that treat networking like dating or casual scrolling. Current algorithms match people by vague, static preferences. Directory grids might show who is nearby, but none match by active, immediate intent or bridge the gap between digital discovery and physical meetups.

🌟 What is NextUs?

NextUs is a real-time networking and matching platform built specifically for founders, partners, networkers, and investors—really anyone looking for transactional or reciprocal professional connections. Instead of endless scrolling and swipes, the platform combines gap-based and intent-based matching with a live, localized map interface:

🚀 How It Works

  • AI-Driven Chemistry: Moves beyond generic tag-matching. The AI pairs users based on shared preferences, chemistry, interests, and—most importantly—the specific problems or resource gaps they are trying to solve.

  • Dynamic Map Interface: Replaces the traditional, boring profile grid with a live, locational map. Users see real-time events, professional needs, active offers, or spontaneous meetups happening around them instantly.

  • Privacy-First Architecture: Eliminates the "creep factor" of location sharing. Built-in check-in and check-out features give users total control over when and where they are visible.

🛠️ Technical Skills Needed (THE ASK)

Looking for a partner (or small team) with experience in:

  • Mobile App Development (iOS/Android)

  • Real-Time Location & Map APIs (Mapbox, Google Maps, geofencing)

  • AI/ML Recommendation Systems (Contextual matching algorithms)

  • Scalable Backend Development (Real-time data streaming, WebSockets)

  • Privacy-Focused Product Design

Bonus: Prior experience building social, networking, event, or marketplace apps.

🤝 The Offer

To start out, I am offering a minimum of 10% equity and up to 50% . I am looking for authentic technical partners who share the vision to take human connection far beyond standard swipes and likes.

The thing missing here decides whether anyone good replies: what is the product, and who is it for? You're asking for distribution, but distribution isn't a general skill, it's market-specific. Someone who sells to dentists can't sell to developers. Without knowing what it is, nobody good can tell if they're the right partner, so you'll attract people who'll take 40% of anything.

Gently, the deeper signal: "partner OR just buy it all" in one breath reads as uncertainty about the product's future. A founder who believes in the upside doesn't casually offer to sell it cheap. Pick one posture, "I need a GTM partner for X" attracts a believer; "partner or acquire" attracts a bargain-hunter.

What does the product do, and who felt the pain enough to build it?

    1. 1

You saying I got something? 😄

The app will be a real-time networking and matching platform built specifically for founders, networkers, investors, partners (really anything transactional or reciprocal). Instead of endless scrolling, the platform combines intent-based matching with a live localized map interface—allowing users to broadcast their current networking intent, view active events, and check in physically to connect in real-time.

It comes from my frustration with traditional social apps that treat networking like dating or casual scrolling. Current algorithms match by vague preferences, and directory grids show proximity, but none match by active, immediate intent or bridge the gap between digital discovery and physical meetups. Over 90% of startups fail largely due to isolation and friction in finding the right early allies. I want to fix that by making matching as efficient as possible, and localized.

I want a Go-To-Market partner to help build this and who understands the startup and founder ecosystem to help scale user acquisition.

Now it's clear, and the concept has a real insight (match by active intent, not vague preferences or raw proximity). But two things decide whether it works, and both are GTM, not product.

First, "founders, investors, partners, anything transactional" is too broad to start. Intent-matching only works when the pool is dense in one intent, one place, one time. An investor opening the map to an empty room leaves and doesn't come back. So the launch isn't "networking app," it's "everyone at THIS conference right now" or "founders in THIS city this week." Own one dense context before widening. Density in a puddle beats sparseness in an ocean.

Second, cold-start is the whole battle: the map is worthless until enough people are on it live, and nobody joins an empty map. Every location-social app dies here. Your partner's real job isn't "scale acquisition," it's "manufacture density in one beachhead," a harder, different skill.

That beachhead-and-density question is exactly what I spend my time on, part of the team building Hivemind, an AI strategy copilot. If you want to pressure-test the launch wedge before hunting a partner: https://hivemind.myosin.xyz

        1. 1

Your AI strategy co-pilot is incredibly insightful. Giving direct, constructive feedback is one of the biggest gaps in current machine learning models—most do default to people-pleasing and want to be so giddy about it! whereas this actually challenges the logic.

Regarding the broadness of “founders, investors, partners, and transactional relationships”—I intend now this being the long-term vision. The prototype is built to eventually scale across the entire social graph, but I agree that the economic sphere is the right place to market for now.

To solve the breadth issue, I am building a precision matching algorithm designed to bridge the exact gaps between specific user “offers” and “needs.” This allows to solve critical problems immediately without requiring geographical density for V1 (Discovery, Search, and Matching). Location only becomes a factor in V2, when the “Live” feature is activated for users who are co-located with complementary needs and offers. To seed this localized density, I will leverage my ecosystem builder, i-Imaginate, to host hybrid and in-person events. For example, by launching an LA Tech Event with 100 synchronized users, we can spark instant, algorithmic matches (hopefully). The built-in map and messaging features will then sustain that engagement for ongoing needs, networking and casual coffee chats.

I already have the network, marketing expertise, and event infrastructure in place. My immediate focus is just finding a developer to audit the prototype and help build the mobile web application for our first user cohort, with the ultimate goal of deploying to the app stores.

Hivemind does look awesome for marketing teams. When do you expect the full finish/launch? Also, what's a good contact?

  2. 1

How do you plan on scaling users?

    1. 1

Great question! This is where event organizing comes in. Since I am an ecosystem builder, I want to incubate the app through relevant themed events beyond just marketing. And this can be done in-person, virtually or even hybrid. To create the momentum for density, I'm going to need to scale the events and then keep user focus actively participating after either through a need/want, or the entertainment or 'surprise' factor. And I know this will be the challenge - 'How to keep users participating?'

There's already economic needs all the time practically in every city, it's getting the momentum going and sustaining the density.

      1. 1

Do you already have audience for digital marketing, or do you plan to rely entirely on advertisements?

        1. 1

I really want to avoid throwing money, I'm trying to stay as much on a small budget as possible with this. Still building the audience and engagement through my ecosystem, i-Imaginate.b12sites.com.

I'm getting ready soon to launch the pre-launch site for the app to get early users and then I'll share.
