Hey all! I recently fell in love with Linear's approach to taking a huge market (project management software), and selling a product with WAY less features, but tacking on a methodology that explains WHY you don't need all those extra features.
You can take a look at their approach here: https://linear.app/method
I'm in a similar situation with Qvault, where basically I'm selling "Our method to Become a Software Developer" and I explain why I think degrees, bootcamps, and code academy are doing it wrong, and why my simpler tool/curriculum is right for a certain niche of users.
Here's the page I'm working on: https://qvault.io/method/
I'm interested if you guys think this is a good approach to niche down further. Essentially only picking up the customers that agree with your philosophy.
The answer to your question is probably yes if your methodology is shaped by careful customer research.
The answer is probably no if you thought up the methodology on your own with minimal input from your target customers.
I wish you luck either way.
