Selling services to VC funds
Hey, fellow indie builders! 👋
Have you had any success selling your service or product to VC funds?
What I mean by that is offering your service/product, maybe at a discounted price, to all the companies a VC backs. I'm mostly interested in the VC funds that invest in Saas and technology companies from seed to series A.
I'm thinking about this strategy for my video production service, and I'd love to hear if any of you have any experience with these types of partnerships and if it's something worth pursuing.
Btw, my name is Heleana, and I run a video production service called www.videodeck.co.
We produce product demos, and explainer videos, and we help companies repurpose their written content by turning it into videos.
It depends if you are aiming at their portfolio companies. Usually VC funds have some partnership programmes where they have a list of software they help get discounts on like AWS credits. Also accelerator programmes, the question I would be asking though if at the most earliest of stages, is this the most crucial thing they need? If someone is running experiments on front-page and trying to convert more customers - probably. Might not be so relevant for direct sales driven business models.
Why not to cold email them and approach? :)

Well I would argue that video is something most startups have to get into nowadays.
If you launch on ProductHunt the video will definitely be a differentiator. Video is also great for product demos or introducing a new feature.
I just started cold emailing a bunch of accelerator programs. I'll write a post with the experience and results.
