I’M DROPPING THIS BECAUSE FOUNDERS DESERVE TO KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENS WHEN SHOPIFY DECIDES TO GLITCH OUT ON YOU.
Here’s EXACTLY what went down:
• GHOST ORDERS — I’m talking orders appearing under DIFFERENT NAMES but with the EXACT SAME DATE AND TIME. No explanation. No accountability. Just duplicate phantom orders that make your reporting useless and your payouts a mess.
• LIVE SUPPORT WON’T HELP — You go to Shopify Live Chat and they hit you with the classic script: “We’re reviewing,” “We don’t see an issue,” “Try again later.” Hours wasted. No solutions. No ownership. Just deflection.
• MONEY OWED THAT THEY WON’T PAY BACK — Shopify literally owes me money from these ghost orders and payout errors. They refuse to fix it. They refuse to escalate it. They refuse to pay what they owe. You’re just stuck watching your balance NOT MATCH your actual sales.
• RANDOM LOCKOUTS — Shopify LOCKED ME OUT OF MY OWN STORE. No warning. No reason. No explanation. Just a message saying I can’t access the dashboard. Imagine paying for a platform that can shut you out whenever it wants.
• ZERO TRANSPARENCY — No logs. No diagnostics. No “here’s what happened.” You’re blind. You’re guessing. You’re hoping the platform you pay for doesn’t break again.
• CREATOR DAMAGE — When Shopify glitches, YOU take the hit. Your customers get confused. Your payouts get delayed. Your reporting gets corrupted. Your trust gets shattered. Shopify shrugs.
This isn’t a rant — this is a WARNING to founders, creators, and indie builders who rely on Shopify and think it’s stable. It’s not. When it breaks, YOU pay the price. And support won’t save you.
I’m building my own platform because I’m DONE letting a giant company decide whether my business works today or not.
If Shopify can ghost your orders, lose your money, and lock you out of your own store… what else can they do?
Founders deserve better.
Sorry to hear you had that experience. Running an online business can be challenging, and sometimes the platform gets blamed when the real issues are usually around strategy, traffic, customer targeting, store experience, or conversion optimization.
I’d be interested to know what happened was the main issue sales, store setup, ads, payments, or something else?
Thanks for the thoughtful message — appreciate you taking the time.
In my case, the issue wasn’t strategy or CRO. Shopify’s backend broke during a critical moment, and support couldn’t resolve it. That failure cost me my business.
I’m not in the Shopify ecosystem anymore — I’m building my own platform engine now. I’ve already produced six standalone SaaS platforms, each with its own identity and feature set.
My post wasn’t about blaming a platform — it was about how reliability and trust matter more than features. That’s the core philosophy behind what I’m building now.
That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when you're trying to grow a business and can't rely on the platform you're paying for.
One thing that stood out to me is your last paragraph—you've already identified the emotional problem: founders don't just lose money when something breaks, they lose confidence in the platform. If you're building an alternative, I'd lean heavily into that message. People don't buy software because it has more features; they buy because they trust it won't let them down when it matters most.
Out of curiosity, have these experiences changed what you're prioritizing in your own platform?
And just to add one more piece — the real‑time kits are built directly into the web hosting platform.
That means creators can run live chats, host their own shows, stream events, teach classes, or build real-time communities without needing any external software. It’s all native. No plugins, no fragile integrations, no “hope it works today” moments.
I’m building an ecosystem where people can create, connect, and grow in real time — all from their own platform, under their own domain, with tools they can trust. This isn’t just SaaS; it’s a full environment for people who want a real chance at something in life.
Absolutely — the whole experience pushed me hard in a new direction.
And yes, it changed everything I’m prioritizing. It made me mad enough to start building my own ecosystem from the ground up: 6 SaaS platforms, 9 domains, my own web hosting service, and now real‑time creator kits that people can use instantly without needing technical skills.
All of this is built for people who want a real chance at something in life — founders trying to better themselves, creators trying to grow, anyone who needs tools they can trust. I’m building an environment where people don’t get punished for trying to build something. Reliability, control, and empowerment are the core pillars behind everything I’m creating.
