Hey Everyone,
I have created an app called DailyDiscomfort. Users swipe on different challenges that are designed to get them out of their comfort zone. They will then attempt to complete the challenges within 24 hours and journal about their experiences.
The app in its current state is not perfect & there is some significant work (both development & marketing) required to get it to a point where I would be comfortable with incorporating in app purchases.
Do you think that this is worth the effort? The only planned way to make money off of this app is through in app purchases (unlimited swipes, premium prompts, etc).

Hey Jeff👋
It looks quite good so far IMO. I’d stick with it if I was you. You’ve done a lot of work and it’d be a waste to drop it before you even ask for someone to pay.
Self improvement is obviously a popular category and at the start of the year it always takes off. You have time to catch that wave if you go hard from now through to March.
There’s definitely some things I’d change with the onboarding (mostly copy tweaks). I’d also suggest using one of the onboarding screens explain the left/right swiping. I wasn’t really sure how it worked when I was swiping. I’d also change the button label “failed” to something less harsh, I think.
I’d probably sell it up front for $2 - $4 or something ASAP to sidestep the IAP work needed and see if people are willing to pay (I know people like to try stuff first but I’d optimise for feedback at this stage).
For pay upfront to work I expect you’ll need to put more effort into AppStore and external marketing and fine tune the messaging. If people start buying then I’d raise the price a little and then see what happens.
good luck!

PS: perhaps you need to get out of your comfort zone about when to ask people to pay 😀
