Should I put a customer's blog post on our blog?

A customer of ours has written a really nice blog post on their own domain about using our tool.
I was thinking about asking this customer if we could put this content on our blog, with plenty of links and attribution back to them.
However I'm aware there may be SEO penalties for doing so, but the advice out there seems conflicting.

Is this something any of you do?
