Hey hackers! I've noticed a few companies like SuperHuman using Instagram. It doesn't look like any of them have a lot of followers though.
Do you follow SaaS companies on Instagram?
What social platform(s) DO you follow SaaS companies on?
from a marketing perspective - yes. Its the biggest social media platform out there (i think). I personally follow accounts that interest me, so if youre sass' account filled that criteria then i might follow them yeah
I'd say it depends case by case. For the majority of SaaS businesses it won't be necessary. I believe a twitter account is more important.
There are already lots of Saas service already, some are account Management like those,
Hootsuite, Buffer
Some are IG growth service like,

Vectary.com has it....
From what I've seen, the jury is still out on whether you need to have an active account on Instagram the same way eg Nike does.
But what you definitely should be doing is using Instagram for retargeting. That's like the lowest of low hanging fruits :)
I actually think Instagram has a lot of potential for SaaS companies, particularly now that they have IGTV. It's just something that hasn't been used much by most SaaS companies outside of specific industries.
Should SaaS companies use Instagram?
If it’s a natural fit.
I’ve done deep dives on lots of B2B SaaS companies. Only saw one that effectively uses Instagram. Webflow.
The design tool complements the visual nature of Instagram.
Do you follow SaaS companies on Instagram?
Nope. I would only follow a SaaS company if they posted content that didn’t directly push their SaaS. Standalone entertaining or educational content.
New Money by Shopify is a great example. It’s entertaining and relevant to their audience.
A big part of our revenue at Ministry of Testing is events, we have an online membership/learning thing too. We use Instagram to show off our community, brand and sponsors. We're more popular on Twitter and LinkedIn.
None, I normally follow the founders on twitter and they just retweet the important and cool stuff.
