Should You Proceed with Software Development When Features Overlap Mature Products?

When the idea for the initial heartbeat germinated, I went ahead and designed a software that was new and exciting in my mind. Not only did the software carry my passion and creativity, but at the time it was conceived, I was convinced that it would change the way a small number of people work.

But as the development work progressed, I gradually realized that there was already mature software on the market that could perform similar functions to my idea, or even better, when using plug-ins.

This discovery made me ponder. Is there really any point for my software to exist? In the face of those giants in the market who have been in the business for many years and have a solid user base, should I still insist on it?
