Hey IH,
I want to share WhaleTrack — a free tool I built to track the biggest traders on Polymarket in real time.
The problem I was solving
Polymarket just hit $3.6B in volume. The leaderboard shows who's winning — but not what they're currently betting on. If you want to follow smart money, you're flying blind.
I wanted to know: what are the top wallets betting on right now?
What it does
Shows the top whale wallets with real P&L, win rates, and open positions
Live activity feed of every trade $1K+ as it happens
Whale Alert banner — fires automatically when someone bets $5K+ in the last 10 minutes
Copy Bet button on every trade to jump into the same market on Polymarket
Shows each whale's biggest current open bet right on their card
The stack
Vanilla JS frontend, Vercel serverless functions as a proxy (to avoid CORS hitting Polymarket's public API), zero backend, zero database. Cost to run: $0.
Traction so far
200+ users in the first week
Traffic from Twitter, Reddit, DEV.to, Quora
Zero paid ads
The whale alert banner firing live with a $28K bet screenshot got shared and drove a big spike
The hardest part
Calculating win rates. Polymarket's API doesn't have a clean "won/lost" flag. Spent a day figuring out that redeemable: true = won, currentValue: 0 + redeemable: false = lost. Obvious in hindsight, painful to discover.
What's next
Email alerts for big trades
More whale wallets to track
Possibly a paid tier for power users
Check it out: whaletrack.app
Would love feedback — especially from anyone who trades on prediction markets. What would make you check this daily?
I like that the product isn't just showing leaderboards—it answers the question people actually care about: "What are successful traders doing right now?" That shift from historical performance to actionable signals makes it much easier to see why someone would check it every day.
"Exactly — knowing what whales are doing right now is way more valuable than historical stats. Thanks for getting it! What markets do you trade on Polymarket?"
I mostly study founder decision-making rather than actively trade.
One thing your product made me think about is a strategic decision that goes beyond whale tracking itself. It's easier to explain over email than in a thread.
If you're interested, what's the best email to reach you on?
"Sure, reach me at whaletrackapp@gmail.com — always open to interesting conversations!"
Thanks! I've just sent it to whaletrackapp@gmail.com.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you get a chance.
