Side Project Feedback! PagePundit 📖

https://pagepundit.com/

Hey IH 👋,

I've just launched the MVP for my first side project, PagePundit!

PagePundit is an AI-powered book recommendation service that takes the hassle out of finding your next great read.

I'm looking for feedback / constructive criticism. Thanks in advance 🫶

    Hi there,

That's a great perspective! Before jumping into development, it's critical to lay a solid groundwork through careful idea analysis. Here's a general roadmap:

Firstly, understand your potential market deeply: their needs, preferences, and behaviors. Secondly, conduct a thorough competition analysis. Look at what they're doing well, where they're lacking, and identify gaps that your idea can fill. Thirdly, keep an eye on industry trends, they can offer valuable insights. Finally, actively seek and integrate feedback.

AI tools like ValidatorAI or CheckMyIdea-IA can greatly assist in this process. They analyze your business idea against these parameters and provide detailed, actionable insights. This can significantly increase your chances of success and help you make an informed decision about proceeding with development.

Best of luck on your journey!

Hey, i just took a look at pagepundit and i don't quite understand it.

There are already recommendations being shown when initialy opening the page, where do they come from?
Also when i enter something into the search box and hit enter, nothing happens or changes in the results.
How is AI being leveraged here to make / choose the recommendations?
The recommendations cannot be personalized, can they?
Also what problem are you trying to solve? Aren't there other services (e.g. directly on amazon) that already do the job? Why is yours better?

PS: I hope my feedback is valuable to you. If so, I would appreciate it if you would take a minute to review my profile and answer the survey in my last post. Thank you so much for doing so!

Hey, thanks for your feedback, really useful! I completely re-worked the UI following as I agree with your thoughts.

I've added a landing page, removed the pre-existing recommendations from other users (I was trying to give it a reddit feel originally..), improved the response time and ensured the user gets context as to why a particular book was recommended example recommendation here!.

Hi @fozzy , to be honest I was a bit confused when I landed on your page. I see a feed with books, but I'm not quite sure how to discover who's recommending them (is it robot or users?) and what your product is all about. It's a little unclear to me. Perhaps it would be helpful to have a landing page that clearly explains what your product does and how it works.

BTW If you would like to get more feedback on your product, I have a website Userdome for exchanging feedback among founders so you can publish your product there as well.

Thanks for the feedback, it is much appreciated. You make a good point, I'll add some form of landing page / landing card to help guide new users through the site.

I'll take a look at Userdome.
