Skill exchange platform

Hi IHs,

This question is coming from a problem I'm currently facing.

Please explain your answer in either case.

This is a tough one and depends on the incentives involved. I do want to be able to help out others without any money involved but would like some sort of credit for it (even if just social or reputation) that they gives me higher priority when I need help myself from others.

Well, the main incentive is to get the service you need in exchange for what you can offer.

I like the idea of having a credit/reputation system. It can motivate you to do something when you don't get anything in return right away that you need.

It also helps you receive paid offers as a proven expert in the field. Sometimes what someone wants is in fact too much to expect to be done in exchange for something else so it can be an off-platform contract.

Yes, one can build up to this.

Good luck! Idea needs some more refinement and thinking but it's a great start.

This is good. Like as a mobile app developer I don’t want to learn how to develop API, so I will ask backend developer for exchange of skills.

    Frontend exchanges with Backend
    Designer exchanges with Developer
Digital Marketer exchanges with Fullstack developer

I find it useful, not sure how many thinks like me

Thanks for your feedback! Honestly, I had "Digital Marketer exchanges with Fullstack developer" in mind, for a long time, when I finally decided to share the idea here.

It seems the results are very positive so far. I guess it's worth a shot.

I am interested. But what do I get when I teach my skill to others ? Do they teach me their skill ?

Is it like a developer can teach digital marketer and digital marketer can teach developer ?

It's totally up to you what to expect in return. You can think of it as a list of requests where people say "I need A" and "I can give B, C, or D" in return.

It can also be anything in fact. Marketing, coding, mentorship, repairing, cooking.

In that case , here is my first request

Hey digital marketing expert give me your 3 hours to asking you anything about digital marketing and in return I will give you 3 hours , you can ask anything about web development and technology

That's a good one! Stay tuned and if I see enough positive responses I'll put something together this weekend.

This seems like a good place to see if people are interested in engaging in capacity that this post suggests by joining a mentorship group - https://www.indiehackers.com/group/mentorship/

Thanks Manoj. If I end up making a move, I'll use DoTenX tbh. I won't spend any time on coding as it won't be my main project.
