Hey Simon, What do you want to know?
We are getting seed investment under the SEIS scheme. It is a maximum of £150k, with a few other restrictions to qualify. (Time trading etc...)
SEIS is specifically for Start-ups. It has great benefits for the investors. They receive a tax refund of 50% of their investment, are capital gains tax exempt if they hold the shares for 3 years, and even if we go bust within the next three years, they can then claim another 25% against their tax bill.
There is also EIS, which has a limit of £5mil and other rules and benefits for investors.
We are at the start of this funding journey, speaking to a few 'friendlies' before going out to the Angel market.
I've just googled it SEIS scheme for Australia. Apparently we don't have it here and the investor community tried to lobby the government for it. We're at the start of our side hustle journey and have put the draft pitch together. We're not really pitching yet. We're just setting up meetings with people to get it reviewed and to see what they think.
We're hoping to get funded before we launch.
Also did you do your pitch deck for online viewing or is it more like a traditional powerpoint presentation?
At the moment it is a PowerPoint with supporting documents. Once we go into the Angel market, we may very well do a video version or at least a video into.
