Hey all,
I've had an idea for a while now for a community for people to share and save their social media ad inspiration. As much as I don't like the "Uber for blank" descriptors I think a Pinterest for marketers might be an apt description.
Basically, the idea is users can create an account, then save and share ads that inspire them. Users would be able to add tags to help other users to find those ads. They would also be able to add data about the ad(if they created it and have access to the ad). Data such as audiences, budget, results, reach, CPR. I'm still toying around with this last idea since I think most users won't add data to ads that they upload that are recent or ongoing. Also, I don't think the user will come back long after the ad is over and add data to the site.
I'm also thinking about a basic idea of how would I go about monetizing the idea. I'm not looking to immediately make money off the idea, but I think it's always a good idea to have a basic plan.
Right now I have four loose ideas:
Something else I've been thinking about is marketing. Since this would be a free service, the paid marketing route wouldn't really be worth it. So I'd have to heavily rely on the content on the site, both the ads that the users upload and probably a blog of some sort. Although with the blog I'm not a marketer or an ads expert so I'm not sure what kind of value I can provide. So either I'd have to partner with someone who knows what they are talking about, or I'd have to blog from the perspective of someone learning.
Also, I'd probably have an email list that would probably focus on showing the most popular ads of the week/month and maybe a breakdown or something.
This is all still a very new idea and I'm just spitballing here.
Would you use a site like this?
Are there any features that you'd look for?
Or any features I talked about that you don't like?
