Since I'm starting with the specific intention of making money from my newsletter, I want to start a discussion about methods for doing so.
I have a site in the outdoor niche that currently averages 20K visitors/month.
I'm driving sign-ups by offering exclusive content to podcast listeners who sign up for the weekly newsletter.
As mentioned in earlier posts, I'll be including some affiliate links, and driving traffic to posts that contain affiliate links (for programs that don't allow links sent in email, such as Bezozon).
I'm considering setting up buyers clubs/bulk purchases, which would require setting up exclusive pricing with manufacturers (doable in my niche).
Other possibilities
What are your strategies for making money from your newsletter?
What are you doing that's unusual or innovative?
What have you tried that failed, and why?
Very comprehensive.
Since you have 20k visitors and niche as outdoor niche, you can include paid conferences with notable speakers and sponsors. It is a great way to make big money though I need to tell you it is very draining.
I did this on a periodic basis with my last company, not a newsletter but a brand focussed on health & nutrition & we derived a lot of profit from them.
I would be grateful if you check out my latest newsletter on business strategy and cultural impact: https://srvivek.substack.com/
Thanks for this very valuable addition to this list.
I've heard Sam Parr talk about doing conferences and he also mentions how lucrative it can be.
And yes, it would fit perfectly in my niche.
True that it would be a lot of work, but the vast majority of high earning projects are. Seeking easy money is a fools errand, IMHO.
Thanks again
