Struggling with hiring

We're building a family/kids-focused alternative for TripAdvisor, with reservation, payment and packaged offers features. We want to help parents map exciting events and activities for/with their kids around -- easily find something for the week-end or holidays. We're starting in France.

We've already built a product. I would love to onboard a great CTO with us, to boost our team, because I'm involved in other startups. I'm offering equity shares as a compensation because I can't pay a salary so far. I'm having a hard time finding a good fit.

Any recommendations for "early stage" hires?

I'm also interested if have any recommendations.
