Survery: asset management for cyber security

Hi guys, I am in my phd research and looking into asset management for cyber security. I know some companies using tools, interviews, etc. to get their assets and to make a risk assessment.
I am looking for ways to automate the asset inventory, building an as-is enterprise architecture model and connect it to vulnerability management and more for cyber security reasons.

My questions to you, how do you do your asset management?
