In IndieHackers, I see a ton of products that tackle business use cases.
All these automated landing pages and ChatGPT for your site are classic examples of "solve your own problems". And profitable.
Many of us building these products are productive, and do lots of productive things for a living. Therefore, we solve productive problems.
But I was thinking, how about the lazy niches?
Maybe it's more of a silly shower thought than a thoughtful insight. But in the business & SaaS space, you're competing against a ton of productive, highly motivated people solving problems they deeply understand.
Does that mean if you're in a space like gaming or anime (spaces traditionally viewed as "entertainment" or "unproductive"), you'll be facing easier competition?
Clearly Netflix is huge. And so are Tiktok and Facebook.
But I'm wondering if this plays out at all in the IndieHackers space, and what kind of monetization products could be built around this.
TLDR: I'm a (formerly) avid gamer and have been thinking about gaming products. And I just don't see many gaming IndieHackers.
