I have like a hundred ideas. Been collecting since last year. Can you please tell me, what are your best ways for validating these ideas?
What I'm considering; picking 4 and building landing pages that allow people to give their email for more info before actually building anything.
Is there any other validation techniques I should consider?
My general rules for creating things are:
It has to be b2b. I don't have the audience or advertising resources for b2c.
It has to be a product that can generate money for the end user. If what you do makes someone money it is more likely they are willing to spend money for it.
Market has to be new or big. It can be big and old if I find a niche within it, or it can be brand new and I can be second in. (Not first purposely, I don't want the marketing risk).
It has to have a clear value prop. Usually making the user money, but can be any number of things.
It has to be bootstrapable.
Above was more of a checklist for ideas. Below is more validation techniques.
Reddit usually has helper forums for every niche imaginable. I usually study those for weeks to see if naturly my problem comes up & is the solution slow or bluky.
Then post videos of you using said product everywhere, if it's really good people will ask you about it.
Thank you! Good advice
I saw this post by Courtland on Indie Hackers - it's a summary of a talk he gave about how to validate ideas. Thought it might be useful for you!
