The biggest advantage of a small SaaS isn't speed

I used to think the biggest advantage of a small SaaS was moving faster than larger companies.

Lately, I think it's something else.

It's the ability to change your mind without creating organizational damage.

A founder can wake up on Monday and decide:

this feature isn't working
this ICP isn't right
this pricing model is hurting us
this channel isn't worth the effort

And by Tuesday the company is already moving in a different direction.

Large companies can't do that.

Every decision gets attached to roadmaps, budgets, teams, reporting structures, internal champions, and career incentives.

The cost of being wrong becomes much higher.

One thing I've noticed:

Many indie products don't fail because they lacked information.

They fail because founders become emotionally committed to decisions that are still reversible.

The longer I spend around SaaS, the more I think reversibility is an underrated asset.

Sometimes the best move isn't finding the right answer.

It's staying flexible long enough to discover it.

Curious:

What's something you changed your mind about in your product that ended up being the right decision?
