Over the last few weeks, I've been building Ashive while spending a lot of time talking to founders here on Indie Hackers.
One thing surprised me.
Every time I had a genuinely interesting conversation, I kept thinking of When should I tell them about Ashive?
I thought that was the hard part.
Now I'm starting to think I was asking the wrong question.
Someone replied to me recently and said
"People love giving feedback, but they hate being sold to."
That sentence stuck with me.
The goal isn't to find the earliest moment to mention your product.
It's to understand someone's problem well enough that mentioning your product feels like a continuation of the conversation instead of a pitch.
Ironically, the less I've tried to promote Ashive, the more I've learned how to improve it.
I'm curious how other founders think about this.
At what point does a conversation naturally become, "You might want to try what I'm building"?
Is there a moment you look for?
Or do you never think about it and just let it happen naturally?
