There's a difference between riding gear that looks tough and gear that actually protects you.
I found out the hard way. Went down at 40 mph two summers ago—not a crash you walk away from casually. My jacket at the time had padding in the elbows but nothing on the back or chest. I was lucky. The abrasion on the shoulder would've been much worse with a thinner shell.
Since then, I've been obsessive about armor coverage and shell material. That's why I ended up with the Men's Waterproof High Vis Armored Motorcycle Jacket from Frishay. It's got CE-rated armor in the right places, a Cordura shell that's built for sliding, and high-vis panels that make you visible when it matters most.
It's also fully waterproof with a thermal liner, so it's my go-to from spring through fall. One jacket, all seasons, no excuses.
Frishay carries a ton of gear beyond this too—daily deals, worldwide shipping. They've become my one-stop shop for bike stuff and more.
If you're riding without proper armor, fix that before you need it.
