The perception of marketing is broken

Foreword

This post may sound like a little bit of self-promotion, and to some extent it is. Originally I've written it as a manifesto for my project Marketing No More, but the idea that I want to convey should be responded to by indie makers.

The perception of marketing is broken

Some founders think that they need only to get a product of the day on PH, some that they need SEO because “it`s free and it scales” or that they need a strong Twitter and LinkedIn account to sell. But what you really need is to find a repeatable, scalable growth channel that returns $2 or more for every $1 they put in — Dragoș Bulugean, founder of archbee.

Marketing turned against you

Marketing is an integral part of any business, but often it becomes a stumbling block and the cause of its collapse. Now the noise level is so high that it becomes difficult to get attention, and it is not enough to sometimes post a little content here and there.

Sometimes founders resort to the decision to do marketing weeks or marketing days, but this may not be enough either.

Instead of figuring out how to find keywords for the next blog post and thinking about how to get that new spike of traffic, you should focus on what you doing best — building your product. And you deserve the right tools and services you can use to do so.

That's us, that's Marketing No More.

We're fixated on marketing automation
You are on a way to finding a growth channel that returns $2 or more for every $1 you put in and we can`t do it for you, because your product and your vision are unique.

But what we can do is provide a set of tools and services you can use to find this channel much faster.

We`ll help you get there.

I guess a lot of people struggle with marketing so they try to grasp any straw they can without a strategy behind it.

So you hear things repeated like: "do SEO"

So I think it's an educational problem. Not enough time in a day to learn it all and get it 100% right.

The best is probably the founder makes the strategy and outsources the grunt work but that means they still need to know a fair share.

Plus it can be pricey for a bootstrapper.

Btw there are a bunch of typos on your landing that I think don't make me trust your offer, should probably fix that 😁

In the "how it works" section for example:

Point 2 is missing a word or sounds wrong grammar wise
Point 3 bublish is probably publish

    Interesting!
How are you different from the marketing agencies or content writing teams that have similar offerings?
And do your writers have experience in putting out technical as well? (cloud infrastructure, DevOps space)

      1. The pricing model. At the scale, we can keep the price low but still do good content + SEO research. Usually, for this price, you will have only copywriting.

      2. Positioning. In the end, you follow what resonates with you 😉

For the technical copy — I'm personally a developer with 11 years of experience(I quite to build Marketing No More) and all initial research and content plan I do by myself. And yea we can do tech copy.

First, you need to Choose a specific niche in which you feel comfortable. Since you notice that affiliate marketing can be so competitive, the right niche is crucial for selecting . The right niche or products make profit easily, you should avoid too much competition and try to gather real audience. There are many types of blogging niches such as - Health and fitness, wellness, Finance, real estate, Technology, travel, gaming, Fashion and beauty and many more. All topics lend themselves to mentioning products or selling, but all products do not offer a meaningful payout for clicks or affiliate sales. SO should be careful to select your niche.
You need to find Collaborators who are excited about helping you build the product. These can be co-founders or first-check investors-- people who are going to invest their time and money alongside you. This is where you need to not only describe the problem you are solving and the Believers you are going to help, but also why you are the one to do it. The Pitch is persuasion that your product has potential.
I always try to find Collaborators who are excited about helping me to create the product. It is a fact that I want to not only describe the problem for solving and confidently take help. The main target to manage my product has potential.

I agree with you here. Marketing, at-least when your dealing with a B2C product like let's say some low-quality Alibaba crap off of Amazon, you want to invest in PPC and hoping you sell more widgets then the budget you had to market them.

But I don't really know how this works in SaaS. I think SaaS marketing is about getting your brand presentation right, and less about making online add targeted at your audience. But the topic is pretty theoretical, each situation is different of course.

Yeah, each product is unique and you can do PPC if your unit economy allows doing this. For some products, it can be content marketing or just Twitter.

Or, for example, in B2B you can do only cold emails and then close deals on sales calls.

The idea is that you need to automate your main channel and double down on it to bring unit economy.
