The plight of Testimonials

I am bad at writing. I have been bad at writing. I was good at design. But I was bad at communicating. I started a design firm and got to a good start, but could not muster the courage to ask for references and testimonials. Well, that is not good. But now with AI and products like ChatGPT/Deepseek, I feel like a superhero.

But I am not taking the help of ChatGPT or any other product for writing this story. Testimonial.si is a project close to my heart, and I want to share the story of why I started this. And specially, why now?

When I started my agency in India, I did not know any better. I was introverted, shy and not quite good with words. Well, to be fair, I was not a great 18 year old. So, I shyed away from referrals and testimonials. Whatever little business I got, I got with my work and word-of-mouth. Time flew by and I did my MBA from an awesome institute in India. And now that I am okayish with words (not very good though!) and the revolution of AI has started, which will go all the way in ASI, I thought of building something for the future for the two things which I feared the most - Referrals and Testimonials. Biting on testimonial as it is the lower hanging fruit.

And its free! I have made it with my two index fingers, thumb on the space bar and lots of coffee, sprinkled with some AI drops and some magic low cost hosting. That is my story!
