I have been spending a lot of time reading cloud storage support threads, Reddit discussions, and user complaints recently.
Something surprised me.
People rarely complain about running out of storage.
Instead, I keep seeing variations of the same problem:
What's interesting is that cloud storage keeps getting bigger, faster, and cheaper, yet many people still spend time hunting for files.
The issue doesn't seem to be storage capacity anymore.
It feels more like a context problem.
The moment someone starts using multiple cloud services for different reasons Google Drive for work, Dropbox for a client, OneDrive through Microsoft 365, personal backups somewhere else the mental overhead starts growing.
A file isn't lost.
But the confidence that you know where it lives starts disappearing.
I've noticed that many productivity discussions focus on creating, sharing, and syncing files.
Far fewer focus on what happens months later when you need to find something and can't remember which account, folder, or service it ended up in.
That's one of the reasons I've been working on All Cloud Hub.
Not because people need more storage, but because I've become increasingly interested in the challenges that appear once files are spread across multiple cloud accounts and services.
Curious if others here have experienced something similar.
When it comes to cloud storage, what's the most frustrating thing you repeatedly run into?
Possibly.
What I'd be careful with is that losing confidence about where something lives can sometimes look like the problem itself.
I'm not sure that's necessarily the thing people are trying to solve.
That's the part I'd be most curious about.
That's a fair distinction. I've noticed users often describe it as "I can't find my file," but what they're really reacting to is the uncertainty. Once they stop being confident about where something lives, they usually fall back to manual workarounds, even if the file was technically there all along.
I think that's exactly where the bigger strategic decision starts.
There's one implication of that shift from "missing files" to "lost confidence" that becomes much more important as the product grows, but I don't think I can explain the reasoning properly in a thread without oversimplifying it.
