Hello everyone, this is my first update. Took me this long because I have only started working in my project fully las weekend. I am building World-class Designer, a college-level, tuition-free, design school with a peer-to-peer learning environment for Africa.
LAST WEEK
I have finished the black paper (I call it black paper because it doesn't follow all the rules a white paper) and I have started to work on the school website.
THIS WEEK
I am planning to continue to work on the school website, hopefully I will be done by next Monday.
ON TARGET?
I am a few weeks late but I believe I will be back on track by the end of this week.

"The school of the future has no walls" - it will be online, but I am officially registered as a South African company.

LAST WEEK: Actually managed to start a rewrite/update project for automated api.
Given that I don't have much time outside of normal work stuff, I've decided not to pursue it as a full-fledged business for now but would like to put a bow on it so I can use it to save a bunch of hours on client work.
My focus right now is simplify, simplify, simplify.
THIS WEEK:
ON TARGET?Don't strictly have one at the moment.
Making something look simple tends to take a lot of work.
The more simple it looks, the harder it was to get there.

LAST WEEK
Poorly on the hacking front. But glorious on the vacationing front.
THIS WEEK
Won't return until Thursday and so I've two modest tasks for this week. Trading out Flutter's default icon and choosing/setting up a philosophy for code organization.
THIS YEAR
On track re publishing an app and learning a new framework!
Girl, you make this look easy. Enjoying work and life is the goal.
(Laughing!) Enjoyment of any sort feels like an accomplishment give the current climate!
Girl, you ain't lying! I have to escape and enjoy my vacay via IG. These tiny homes are amazing, but they're often in the woods. Question, can a bear push down a tiny house?
Vacationing is badly needed at times!
I'm happy to have a wife to remind me every now and then and motivates me to step away from the computer in the weekends.
Spent some time with the rubber dinghy this weekend and it is -as you say- glorious!
Take your time and charge that battery.

OK, a bit later maybe, but here's a midweek update.
How did you fare last week?
Vimalin on Big Sur does not run, so will have to investigate why.
Got feedback from a few customers about things they bumped into, some bugs like a backup discovery not finding all old backups (fixed that) and a lot of papercuts. Have been working on those and adding small features to make it all a bit more smooth. These customers have tested my fixes and are happy with the improvements, so more of that is coming for everybody else.
What's on deck for this week?
The same as last week, except also remove more papercuts.
Get Vimalin to compile and run via the next version of Delphi. It compiles, but still crashes on run. Still don't know why.
It's never too late.

LAST WEEK
I completed my monthly goal to launch Phase 1 of Lift Academy and made an announcement post. Saw at the last minute that I needed some features for audience. Then this weekend I took a little break to do some research and non-hacky things.
Hitting a goal is like sprinting at a milestone, getting there.. and then seeing another enormous hill in front of you. It's a challenge to keep the energy up! Definitely nowhere near "reaping the rewards" yet. I did try a couple things with posts/post boosting and my bounce rate is better than I expected. Engagement not as high as I want yet.
THIS WEEK
This week some schools are announcing plans for the coming school year. It's going to kick off the interest spike for homeschooling and alternatives, and will last a few weeks. I'm not ready. I need to think hard about what I can do to be part of the conversation.
I feel behind the wave a little, and I don't like the way it feels. I wish I had assessments done for all the other grades already. Today I am going to take some time and do a little more research to put into place the seeds for Phase 2 and begin talking to people about it.
After that, I am going to work on getting Grade 4 done, then Grade 5. I estimate that if I work HARD I can do one per day.
ON TARGET?

Would stepping away from the code, and doing this manual hurry your progress? It's much easier to define, plan, execute, review, and approve on paper than programming. Since time is short, could you get more insight, feedback, buy-in, & commitment w/ paper and then build?
Haha true words! It takes only 15-16 hours per grade but it is a SLOG. I just finished another and will be starting the 3rd tomorrow. Stepping away from the code does help a lot ;)
Imagine the 80% you're going to get from working smart for those 15hrs. 😉
