Thinking of starting a live auction site for startup tech—good idea?

I'm playing with the idea of launching a platform called NextGenBids—it's all about live auctions for cool new tech from startups. The plan is to make it fun and interactive, where you can bid on the next big thing and chat directly with the creators. I am hoping it to be a fun networking event to create a value.
