Fair warning this is my third time launching the same product, and I've written about the first two here before. 20 upvotes, then 8. Somehow worse the second time. So if you've seen me around, you know the story.
Here's what's actually different, and why I'm posting instead of just quietly launching.
The first two times, I did the exact same thing polished the product till the last minute, blasted it out on the day, then refreshed the number till dinner. Both times I treated launch day as the whole strategy. Both times it was over by evening.
This round I didn't touch the product for weeks. Instead I just showed up commented, answered, shared what I was figuring out, with nothing to sell. It felt deeply unproductive the entire time. No shipping, no screenshots, no number moving. Ten years as a designer and I barely opened Figma. Every instinct told me I was wasting the run-up.
And here's the honest part I still don't know if it worked. Today is the actual test. I have a few more real conversations than I did, and no idea if that turns into a launch that goes any differently than the last two.
The product itself is the thing I've talked about here before it doesn't stop at "here's your market analysis" anymore, it carries an idea through to something a developer can actually pick up. That part I'm fairly confident in. It's the launch I've never once gotten right.
So the thing I actually want, more than upvotes today, is the read from people who've done this more than once: what genuinely moved the number for you a better product, or everything you did in the weeks before launch day? Because I've now bet an entire launch on the second answer, and I find out today if I was right.
Update: it's live now. Not going to turn this into a pitch if anyone's curious what the thing actually looks like after all that, it's here: https://www.producthunt.com/products/bunzee-ai?launch=bunzee-3-0
Still mostly just want the answer to the question above though.
