I have an idea that I want to vet. My plan is to make a landing page that has a video demo of the product.
The thing is, the video will basically be "staged". It would only showcase exactly the features that the MVP would contain (so no showcasing features that wouldn't exist).
Building the MVP would take a few months vs I could make this in a few days.
The landing page would be a form to sign up and would display the pricing models (no free tiers) to funnel in those who are actually willing to pay.
The idea is to get the customers who are most likely to pay and then onboard them with "white glove treatment".
Anyone ever done something like this? Thoughts?
Hello! I've heard of cases where this worked out well. Though I'd say getting the first few users is always hardest, and might be even harder if you only have paid tiers.
I've validated ideas using webflow landing pages, and by doing so have stopped working on ideas based on quick feedback!
If you're trying to validate an idea that would take months to build, I'd suggest reaching out to people in your network or on LinkedIn that has the problem you're solving, and start building for them if they give you an LOI or soft commit.
might be even harder if you only have paid tiers
I hear so much conflict around this. If you make it paid, it will be harder (like you said) but if you make it free, you don't know if the idea is worth paying for.
