Throwing Spaghetti at the Wall

I constantly struggle with if you build it, they will come. I'm very happy to code away and hope that any SEO and word of mouth will bring in traffic along with the little bit of outreach I do. I hate pitching sales to people.

In order to challenge myself I'm flipping the script and throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. I picked a small MVP (niche job board sites) that require a relatively small amount of code compared to previous endeavors. I can also use the same codebase for multiple job boards.

Meet https://ThreejsJobs.com with free community job posts & $50 featured job posts.

As well as https://cuda.work which will focus on CUDA and parallel programming jobs and bigger clients with deeper pockets willing to spend money for leads. Both regular & featured job posts will cost money.

September Goals:

  • MVPs are complete
  • First job post sale for each board before EOM
  • Build email list for developers to receive jobs as they are posted (weekly/daily)
  • Marketing marketing marketing! Forcing myself to get out and pound the virtual pavement to drive traffic but also receive feedback on pain points etc.

Reasoning: Why job boards?

  • Personal interest - I enjoy working on Three.JS & CUDA tech. Initially I viewed the CUDA job board as a way to get companies to apply to me as I've been interested in CUDA jobs for quite a while.
  • Small MVP - Small code base to get going & see what sticks. Can also reuse code base across multiple sites.
  • Low cost - Domain names & time as I already have the server.
  • B2B - Businesses & recruiters are willing to spend money to get candidates.

Would love to hear any feedback!
