Tip: Use content upgrades to increase opt-ins

It's more likely that people reading your blog will opt in with their email addresses if you give them something highly relevant in return. Ditch that too-general lead magnet and create "content upgrades" for your highest-traffic articles.

Content upgrades are lead magnets that are specific to a piece of content — they act as highly-relevant add-ons to what is being discussed. And they are far more effective than the more general lead magnets that are so often reused across multiple articles. In fact, according to Bryan Harris of Growth Tools, they consistently get signup rates as high as 20%. And Brian Dean of Backlinko saw an increase of 782% (0.54% to 4.82%) site-wide. So if you'd like to get more opt-ins, consider creating content upgrades for your highest-traffic articles. Bryan recommends a few simple types: checklists, resource guides, how-tos, and case studies. Make sure each content upgrade is highly relevant to the corresponding article. Then put multiple CTAs into the article at relevant spots — don't wait until the end. And explain why the content upgrade is valuable and relevant. This is ideal for those who have consistent traffic coming to one or more articles.
