Tracking Guide for Ghost CMS

TL;DR: Learn how to integrate Matomo Tag Manager with Ghost CMS. Works with Google Tag Manager too :)

So you're using Ghost CMS?

Awesome! Ghost is a great CMS for creators but it does lack some when it comes to tracking and analytics.

This weekend I scratched my own itch to implement a Tag Manager and Setup Conversion Tracking for https://spoofdefender.com and made it into a short blog post.

I had not seen anything about that before so I believe others might find it useful.

Note: the steps are the same whether you're a hardcore open-source self-hoster and use Matomo Tag Manager like me or if you use the industry standard Google Tag Manager!

Next posts will cover how to pass subscription details to the dataLayer and set up conversion.

Writing this I found it quite nice that Ghost's flows are pretty universal and what I want to track on Spoof Defender is very likely similar to what any other Ghost CMS site owner wants to track: namely subscriptions, paid subscribers and the subscription flow.
