Trading Bots

Is someone working on trading (crypto or shares) bots?
I've always had interest in the field but never dug into it "professionally".

I'm currently taking a look at Gekko (both unmaintained and the "green" fork).

I'd love if someone else would like to chat about those topics!

A trading bot is a computer program that automatically places trades on a user's behalf using algorithms.
The following steps are included in a trading bot's basic operation:

    • Data Analysis: The trading bots examine market data and employ advanced algorithms and indicators to find trends, patterns, and signals that can point to trading possibilities.
    • Decision-Making: The trading bot decides whether to purchase, sell, or keep a crypto asset based on the study of market data.
    • Trade Execution: The trading bot makes a decision, and after that, it automatically executes the trade by sending orders to the exchange where the asset is exchanged.
    • Monitoring: The trading bot constantly evaluates the market and its own performance and makes improvements as needed.

Now, Let's see the most commonly used trading bots in the crypto platforms.

There is some significant crypto trading bot which is used mainly by entrepreneurs. I listed a few common bots,

    • 3Commas
    • HaasOnline
    • Cryptohopper
    • Gunbot

Overall, A trading bot can make transactions more quickly and efficiently than a human trader while also helping to automate the trading process and lower the risk of human mistakes. Hey, I was in your shoes 14-15 months ago. I built a little app to pull data, run some simple calculations and I would buy/sell manually. (I would hold my positions for like 3 days, which is a long time for most algo trading).

Long story short, the algorithm worked on paper, but lost a little or broke even over each quarter in the last year. In real life, I couldn't actually fill all of the trades that were filled on paper. Kindof burned out on the idea, because it was only about the $$, I don't love stocks or stats.

Anyways, didn't mean to be a bummer. It's possible to figure this out and make $$. Check out the algo trading reddit for some resources and reach out if you want to chat about anything.

not considering it a bummer, it's actually interesting! usually, people get into trading for "easy money" but I believe is not that easy. I'd love to know more about your experience!

So far, all the indicators or strategies I've been looking at don't quite feel like "real math" but mostly like "mumbo jumbo wizardry" that works only once in a while and this makes me really confused.

not sure I fully understand. What do you mean with "those are ultimate to give more than 100% profit in a day, and other side it sucks entire capital in a hour."?
