Trial: Require credit card upfront vs. without?
Just wondering your thoughts on having a free trial that requires credit card details to start vs. no details and if they want to continue then they need to enter them after the end of trial.
Currently I have credit card upfront but I feel I could be missing some leads due to users wanting to try it before committing any further.
Depend on your goal and your target market.
Without credit card you may get more signup and easier for customer to try your service, but you will dealing with bunch of not serious user and a lot of fake email.
With credit card you will get less signup, but better leads quality (more serious user), but it may harder for user who used company credit card to try your services.
For now, I tried without credit card and limit my trial day to 3 day.
And how has that gone for you so far? I'm now trying 7 days without credit card to see how it goes.
The less info you require from them upfront, the better. Most folks are cool getting some skin in the game when they know it is worth it for them.
