Tried something different with my personal website

So more recently I decided to try something different (and more fun to build), just looking for some feedback and thoughts! :)

My main idea was to re-create a desktop experience that showcases both ability and something I could hide easter eggs in. The goal is to attract attention to my own contracting work or somewhere to link to my side projects/products. Wondering if that comes across well?

Open to all kinds of feedback, positive or negative!

Looks nice, here are my positives and negatives:

    Pros:

    • Unique
    • Memorable
    • Shows you can do some interesting things

    Cons / advice:

    • Get rid of the windows popping up by themselves, give the visitor more agency over the experience
    • Nobody will ever find you easter eggs, and it's annoying to get a completely unexpected result
    • When designing a landing page, think about what is the one message that you want people to remember about you. Right now, your landing page does you a disservice, because it doesn't prioritize that one thing, that I as a visitor need to remember. People don't have capacity to remember everything, so the brain "optimizes" by picking just one thing and storing that. For example, the only thing I really remember from your page is that it's bright yellow, and there are some boxes I could move around.

Hope this is helpful! 😊All in all, if I was serious about hiring a person, I would reply to your email, it is unique.

Thank you for the feedback! Appreciate the honesty :)

Agree with the windows popping up and the alert. It's the feedback I've most received so I've amended it to give the user more time now! The goal is to optimise as I go along so this is very helpful! 🙌
