Try fair web analytics

Your feedback is helping us take a step forward on our way to develop a self hostend and transparent alternative to established web analytics tools.

We’re excited to present our first version that is officially ready for testing. Although we have dug very deep, things may still contain issues. Therefore, we recommend using Offen in a production environment only for the brave. Also be aware that the upgrade path may be broken with upcoming releases. Offen is free and always will be.

Available as:

  • Download Single binary file for Linux, Windows or MacOS
  • Deploy to Heroku

Download or deploy Offen today, check our Docs and give it a spin. Put your feedback in the comments. We look forward to hearing from you.

Happy testing!

    Interesting idea.
I am developing https://www.starmessagesoftware.com/softmeter which connects a desktop application to Google Analytics.
I would like the end-users to be able to see what the system knows about them.
Something like a public analytics dashboard.
This cannot be done easily with Google Analytics.
I do not know if it can be done with Matomo (Piwik).

On your website, I think you need to post some screenshots to indicate what kind of analytics the owners see and what the anonymous users see as their data.

A thought in a different direction you be that instead of developing a full product, you develop a Matomo add-on to do what you want, benefiting from the all other existing functionality.
Or a GA self-hosted and preconfigured report. I did such GA reports here
    https://www.starmessagesoftware.com/softmeter-reporting/
for the developers who are using SoftMeter. But these are for the developers who log-in with their GA account. Not for the anonymous visitors.

Thanks for your feedback. Your reference to an explainer 'who sees what data' on our website really made us think. I will post here when we have an update on this!

        I am glad this helped.
I forgot to mention that I am interested in your project because it could be a "fair" data collection platform from my "SoftMeter" application analytics.

Looks cool. Need is not so large that I will commit at the moment. But will keep an eye on.

A lot of updates over here. For one thing now it is much easier to test Offen. Give it a try!
