Turned my HEIC frustration into a tiny “HEIC to JPG in browser” tool

Hey folks,

This one came from a very boring but very real pain: iPhone photos in HEIC format.

Every time I moved pictures from my phone to my laptop to use in a deck, a listing, or a quick design, I’d end up with HEIC files that half my tools couldn’t open. The existing converters I found were full of ads, wanted me to upload a whole camera roll to some random server, or tried to upsell me for basic features.

So I built From HEIC to JPGhttps://fromheictojpg.com

The idea is simple: drag your HEIC files into the page, the browser converts them to standard JPGs, and you download them. No sign-up, no watermark, and I’m aiming to keep the quality high while making the files small enough for web, email and marketplaces.

It’s mainly for:

  • people moving iPhone photos into Windows / web tools

  • small sellers who need product photos that “just work” everywhere

  • anyone who is tired of explaining to clients what a HEIC file is 🙂

I’d love feedback from the IH crowd on:

  • does the flow feel obvious enough the first time you land on it?

  • is there anything you’d expect from a converter like this (batch rename, simple compression slider, etc.) that feels “missing”?

  • would you actually bookmark / use this, or do you already have this solved some other way?

If you know a photographer, seller, or friend who constantly runs into HEIC issues, I’d really appreciate you sharing the link with them. That’s how these tiny tools slowly find their people. 🙌
