Unbaked idea: ads notification system

My email inbox is getting many promotions/ updates emails from different sources which I don't check usually. I know I can unsubscribe or sent to spam, but I tend to keep it just in case I become interested in the service again. I was thinking, why do we use our emails for almost everything, why don't we move such notifications to a different system, here comes the idea:

A service that replaces emails as a mean of communication/notification between customers/subscribers and vendors/services. Instead of filling up your email with promotions, events and updates, direct all these notifications to your inbox in that service.

Benefits for users:

• Easy way to stop spammy emails. When not interested anymore, it is easier to block notifications from within the service instead of going through "unsubscribe" links.
• free your email from tons of promotion emails that you don't check nor delete and fill up your inbox quickly.
• better management of promotion notifications. For example, enable auto delete of old notifications.
• No need to expose your email to vendors.
• Avoid the risk of losing important emails that get sent to the promotions tab.
• Avoid the risk of deleting important emails by mistake when you need to mass delete promotion emails.
  Basically free up your email inbox to more important/personal stuff.

Benefits for vendors:

• your notifications go directly to customers, not put in the spam/promotions folder or left unread.
• better stats about who is still interested in your content. Vendors can get stats about who have read their messages, clicked the link, deleted immediately, etc...

I am not sure if this service makes sense, looking forward for your feedback.
