[Update – we ranked #1!] Our Product Hunt launch is getting cooked

Update: the PH team investigated and noticed there was indeed an issue on their end, and offered us a relaunch. we were exhausted after weeks of preparing for the launch and already asking people to upvote once. but then i decided to relaunch. luckily our users and community showed up again and supported us and we ranked #1 product of the day

Today has been supposed to be a celebration—a culmination of months (if not years) of hard work, late nights, and countless iterations. We were ready to hit the “Launch” button on Product Hunt and introduce our product, Integral, to the world. But instead, we’re here writing this blog post because, well, things haven't quite gone as planned.

The Build-Up: What Went Right

Let’s rewind for a second. Our team of 2 has been laser-focused on making this launch a success.
• We fine-tuned the messaging.
• We built a strong support network of early adopters and advocates.
• We coordinated our social media blitz, newsletters, and everything in between.

In short, we did everything right—or so we thought.

The Glitch That Changed Everything

When we finally went live, we noticed something strange: our users comments aren't being shown (actual early users writing actual comments), our product isn't consistently appearing in search, 3 of my childhood launches from years ago are suddenly marked as “Live” at the same time.

At first, we thought it was a simple mistake. Maybe we misclicked, or perhaps we had left some settings from past launches unchanged. But as we dug deeper, it became clear: this wasn’t on us. A technical issue on Product Hunt’s end had effectively cooked our launch.

Here’s what went wrong:
1. Multiple Products Appeared as Live: Despite having scheduled only one launch, older products, including ones from years ago, were marked as live again.
2. Disrupted Visibility: 6 hours into the launch, people are still struggling to find us

Why This Matters

A Product Hunt launch is more than just a checkbox on a marketing plan. For many startups and makers, it’s a pivotal moment—a chance to gain exposure, connect with early adopters, and spark conversations. The first few hours of a launch are critical, and this bug has kinda thrown us off course. But we're still hopeful.

Our Next Steps

We’ve reached out to Product Hunt to resolve this issue, and they’ve acknowledged they are aware and are resolving it, but don't have an estimated time of resolution. Here’s what we’re doing:
1. Communicating with Our Community: Transparency is key. If you’re reading this, we want you to know exactly what happened and why things might look a little off.
2. Doubling Down on Engagement: Despite the technical hiccup, we’re still here. We’re manually guiding people to our intended product page and continuing the conversation.
3. Learning for the Future: Technical issues happen, but preparation and adaptability are what matter most. We’re documenting everything to ensure we (and others) can navigate similar challenges in the future.

What You Can Do

If you’ve launched on Product Hunt, you know how crucial community support is. So, we’re asking for your help:
• Check out our launch. It's called Integral, a Slack/Discord alternative. You'll love it https://www.producthunt.com/posts/integral
• Share your feedback. If you’ve faced similar issues, let’s connect—we’d love to hear your story.

Closing Thoughts

Every launch is a learning experience, and sometimes, the lessons come from unexpected places. While our Product Hunt launch hasn't unfolded the way we envisioned, we’re not giving up lol. If anything,

Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding as we navigate this curveball. Let’s make the best of it together!
