Using a Chatbot for Cold Email

We all are used to cold email being simple: someone doesn't reply after X days, send Y message.

It seems like with chatbots now, there is a major growth hack opportunity to add a chatbot to reply to emails. In theory you could just automate the entire process, and be communicating with vast amounts of people without doing any additional work.

I am wondering if anyone is already doing this, and how well it is going for them. This also could be a product idea to sell to people that want to do this.

disclaimer: you can always mention you are a "virtual assistant" in the footer of the email to calm anyone's concerns about ethics etc.
