UX Lessons from comparing Starbucks with Peet's mobile app.

https://dandemello.blog/coffeebattle/

I've compared Starbuck's with Peet's Coffee's mobile UX. It's interesting to see how a small company can take on a bigger one on specific aspects of business. Lessons include:

How to better use push notifications
How to leverage copy in UX
Out-of-app UX aspects

Any thoughts?

The point you mentioned about reducing friction is so key! I actually came across a product on IH by @Fer_Momento (https://www.indiehackers.com/post/designing-and-now-writing-a-resume-is-easier-than-ever-e6b267d8b4) and he's nailed the frictionless experience IMO.

Awesome! 2 clicks to start getting value is actually pretty good.

    Love this!

I feel like copy is such an underrated part of UX (despite being so critical). If something looks nice that's great, but bad copy and derail the best designs.

100% agree, that might be one of the most underrated parts honestly. That's likely a byproduct of designing with Lorem Ipsum, getting to something great aesthetically and later on just adding the text - most of the times text quality ends up being neglected because you're distracted with how great your design is haha

      I prefer doing:

      1. Wireframe with no copy to get to an intuitive page architecture/user flow
      2. Write the copy that supports the desired experience
      3. Edit aesthetics/colors etc.
