Validating a Privacy Tool for Freelancers: Auto-Redact Personal & Client Data for GDPR/CCPA Compliance

Hey Indie Hackers,
I’m a freelancer on Upwork/Fiverr and constantly dealing with two big pains:

1. Clients asking for my full address, phone, ID scans, etc., in proposals/forms — worried about doxxing or leaks.
2. Storing client personal data (names, emails, addresses, files) in emails, Notion, Drive — and knowing GDPR/CCPA could fine me if I don’t handle it right (minimize storage, delete on request, prove compliance in audits).

I’m validating a simple Chrome extension idea to solve both:
Auto-redact/black out my personal info (address, phone, ID) before uploading or sending proposals/files
Auto-fill virtual/legal burner details (address/phone/email) in client forms
Auto-redact client personal data in any file I store/share (to minimize what I hold)
One-click send “delete my data” requests to clients/platforms when jobs end
Auto-delete old client data/logs on a schedule (configurable: 3/6/12 months)
All on-device (nothing stored in cloud, no backend)

Questions for you:

1. Do you freelance or know freelancers who face these privacy/compliance issues?
2. Which part hurts more: sharing your own info or worrying about client data audits?
3. What features would make this a must-have (or deal-breaker)?
4. Would you (or freelancers you know) pay ~$9/month (or $139 lifetime) for this?
