I put up a landing page for an info product a day ago - https://scrapingwithpython.com.
Expected outcome I had in mind:
- If users click on the ad, that is interest/intent that is validation I know that this needs to exist. 2-5% clicking on the ad is what I thought was success.
- If users subscribe to the mailing list, then that is a bonus.
Here's what I did next
- I did some research and picked keywords to use for an Adwords campaign (first-timer).
- I put up a budget of $20/day
- Most of the long tail keywords I chose (about 25) have search volume in the range 10-100 and have low or no bidders
Result: I've gotten 7 impressions for the ad for a day. $0 deducted from my budget.
Looks like either:
- The ad is bad
- OR the traffic is super-low that it doesn't matter
I feel like I'm missing something. Where do I get started with Google Search Ads for validating ideas? (any recommended articles/notes?)
