Video calling frustrations?
Hey guys. I'm trying to build something to help us connect with our friends in these weird times. I was wondering what your big frustrations are when videocalling with friends/family?

I don't know if this can be solved easily but getting online is always a dance of getting the tech to work - the video, the microphone, the lag, it's 2020 and it's still a coin toss every time we get online. That seems to be true for every tool out there - Hangouts, Zoom, Skype, etc. WhatsApp seems to be more stable but the delay is pretty bad.
It's a big ask but if you can promise a seamless connection every time, you might be onto something.
Keep in mind that most of these tools are free for personal use and you might find it difficult to make a case for a paid product.
Totally agree. It's not anymore about the a/v quality, it's not about the price. Its that frustration and "not again" feeling. Then you look like an idiot for the next 5-10 minutes plugging out and plugging in your headset

On an unrelated note: I have the same feeling with powerpoint (google slides/ whatever) presentations, especially when they have video in them. It always seems to go a little bit wrong.
