Want a method to find unique ideas/problems in the market?

Want to build a product/service around a validated problem that people would pay for and is easy to distribute?

  1. Go on Fiverr
  2. Find people who do data entry, automation, generic outsource, etc.
  3. Reach out to interview them. Most do it for free, some can do it for like 10-20 bucks.
  4. Find out what they still do manually. Fiverr people find leverage through the arbitrage of tools. Clients who come to them don't know that there are already tools that can do what these Fiverr people can do. If they do something manually it's because there is a gap. Sometimes they build their own internal tools. Sometimes the software is too expensive.
  5. Build a tool for them to try out to automate.
  6. If they like it and it works, identify who their customers are based on their portfolio. Find look-alike companies and reach out to them with your new tool.

Companies do the first round of research to find a tool to solve their problem (maybe they are solution-unaware). Then a Fiverr person does a much more extensive second round of research to find a tool they can leverage. If they can't find it there is a big gap.
