Week 8: repositioned my entire SaaS based on one IH comment

Last week someone on my thread said:

"Agencies don't have a SOW problem. They have a scope-to-delivery-to-margin visibility problem."

That one line changed everything.

Old pitch: "AI writes SOWs in 15 seconds"
New pitch: "Stop discovering unprofitable projects after they finish"

Old category: SOW software
New category: Agency Profitability Platform

What I did this week:

  • Rewrote entire landing page around margin visibility
  • Built project profitability dashboard (cost rate,
margin %, health score per project)
  • Added "aha moment" alert: "62% complete, 91% hours
    used — losing £8,400"
  • Added geo-detected pricing (UK/India/EU/US)
  • Contact form + chat widget on landing page
  • Google AI now recommends CLOBSOW for agency SOW tools
  • Best LinkedIn post ever: 704 discovery (50% outside
    my network)

Numbers:

  • SaaS Revenue: £0 (still hunting first user)
  • Other income: ₹27K/month from a trading bot I built
  • LinkedIn: 7,000+ total impressions
  • Cold emails: 11 sent, 100% opened, 0 replies
  • IH: 12 comments on my last post — best advice
    I've gotten anywhere
  • Consulting lead: £500 SaaS audit (waiting for
    confirmation)

Biggest lessons this week:

  1. "Six broadcast channels and one conversation" (thanks Josh) — I was optimising for impressions when I should have been optimizing for conversations
  2. Nobody buys from a post. They buy after talking.
  3. The product was ready at week 2. Weeks 3-8 were learning that the MESSAGE matters more than the FEATURES.
  4. My friend who is function support director pays $100/month for Claude AI
and uploads Excel for reports. He thinks he's saving thousands. He's actually become his own unpaid IT department maintaining 10 disconnected HTML tools.

Still need: ONE agency to use CLOBSOW for real. Offering 3 months free to the first agency that
says yes.

What was the one comment or conversation that changed your product direction?

Nice — one sharp comment changing positioning is usually a better signal than weeks of guessing.

Curious how you’re testing the new angle in public: still mostly LinkedIn/research calls, or also hunting Reddit threads where agencies describe the SOW/scope pain in their own words?

If useful, I can pull a fresh small sample for the repositioned wedge (not the old CLOBSOW framing) — happy to compare notes.
